Dust gently with a clean, dry, soft brush, supporting the knot from underneath. Work across the surface without pushing between tightly formed loops. If tassel strands cross, separate them with your fingers from the loose ends upward; stop if you meet resistance.

Test an appropriate cleaning method on an inconspicuous area before treating a visible surface, and avoid rubbing printed or embroidered details.

Keep displays away from prolonged direct sunlight and damp locations. Open and close folding fans gently, and support their frames when moving them. When putting a knot away, preserve its outline and lay the tassel without sharp folds. Do not pile heavy objects on top.
